Flying Star Feng Shui Calculator
Generate your property's Flying Star feng shui chart, a 9-palace energy blueprint (宅命盘). Discover permanent wealth & health sectors mapped alongside annual visiting stars.
Flying Star is a traditional practice. Use it as a prompt for thoughtful choices about how you arrange and use your space, not as a guarantee of outcomes.
What each star means
Every sector of your chart carries several of these nine numbers. What a star does depends on the sector it sits in and the stars beside it, so treat these as a starting point, not a verdict. The ★ 旺 and ★ 生气 badges on your chart mark the stars currently in season.
1 White 一白
Water
Career, wisdom and helpful people. A calm, flowing star that supports study, networking and steady progress.
2 Black 二黑
Earth
The illness star, linked to health strain and lingering trouble. Best kept calm and uncluttered.
3 Jade 三碧
Wood
Arguments, rivalry and legal friction. Its energy is sharp and restless, so avoid stirring it up.
4 Green 四绿
Wood
Study, writing and romance. A gentle star that supports learning, creative work and relationships.
5 Yellow 五黄
Earth
The most disruptive star, tied to setbacks and obstacles. Avoid renovation, digging and heavy noise in its sector.
6 White 六白
Metal
Authority, leadership and support from mentors. Helps with decisions, discipline and advancement.
7 Red 七赤
Metal
Speech, sales and pleasure. Good for communication, but it can turn to loss or quarrels when the sector is unsettled.
8 White 八白
Earth
Wealth, property and stability. A steady star for saving, building and long-term security.
9 Purple 九紫
Fire
Celebration, recognition and visibility. Brings momentum and attention; too much heat can tip into restlessness.
What is Flying Star feng shui?
Flying Star feng shui (玄空飞星, Xuan Kong Fei Xing) is one of the most widely used classical systems for reading a building. It treats time as part of the space: the same home carries different energy as the years pass, and Flying Star tracks that change with a grid of nine numbered stars laid over the floor plan.
Why a property has its own chart
Every building has a natal chart fixed at the moment its energy is considered to begin. It depends on two things: which way the main entrance faces, and which 20-year period the property belongs to, based on when it was completed or first occupied. Two homes on the same street can have very different charts if they face different directions or belong to different periods.
How the chart is built
The nine palaces cover the eight compass directions and the centre. Each palace holds a Mountain star, traditionally linked to health and relationships, and a Water star, linked to money and opportunity, alongside the base star of the period. On top of this natal chart sits the annual star, which moves to a new palace each year when the solar new year begins on Feb 4 (立春).
What this calculator gives you
Enter your facing direction and anchor year and the tool builds your property's natal chart, overlays this year's visiting stars, and rates each sector. You also get the supportive sectors for career, money, love, studies, health and networking, plus the annual cautions to avoid disturbing: Five Yellow, Tai Sui, Sui Po and San Sha.
