How your chart is calculated

   The clock offset at your birthplace

   The time zone and daylight saving time that applied in your birth city on your birth date, from historical time zone records.

2. 2

   Your birthplace's longitude

   4 minutes for every degree of longitude between your birthplace and the meridian that clock time is based on. Two cities on the same clock can differ by over an hour.

3. 3

   The Equation of Time

   The seasonal gap between clock noon and the moment the sun is highest, which runs ahead or behind by up to about 16 minutes across the year.

What is SuperBazi?

SuperBazi is an online AI Bazi specialist. It calculates your Bazi (Four Pillars) chart from your birth details, writes a complete reading of that chart, and answers your follow-up questions about career, money, relationships and timing. The chart is free, and the consultation is a one-time purchase.

How does SuperBazi calculate a Bazi chart?

SuperBazi calculates the chart with a dedicated Chinese calendar engine before any interpretation starts, so the pillars come from the calendar, not from the AI. The Bazi year begins at the Start of Spring (立春), around 4 February, and each Bazi month begins at its solar term, not on the first of the calendar month. The reading is written from that calculated chart, and you can compare the pillars with other Bazi software that uses true solar time.

What is true solar time, and why does SuperBazi use it?

True solar time is the time by the sun's actual position at your birthplace. Bazi hours follow the sun, not the clock. When you know your birth hour, you also choose your birth city. SuperBazi first finds the clock offset that applied at your birthplace on that date, including daylight saving time. It then corrects the time by 4 minutes for every degree of longitude between your birthplace and the meridian that clock time is based on. Finally it applies the Equation of Time, the seasonal gap between clock noon and the moment the sun is highest. The corrected time can move a birth into a different hour pillar, and occasionally a different day pillar.

What if I don't know my birth hour?

You can still create a chart. SuperBazi calculates the year, month and day pillars and leaves the hour pillar out instead of guessing it. No birthplace is needed and no solar-time correction is applied. The day pillar is taken from the calendar date, so the chart notes that the day pillar, and with it the Ten God and luck pillar labels, could change if the exact time were known. The reading works from the pillars it has.
