Each palace shows its mountain star (山星, left) and water star (水星, right) above the period star (运星). ★ 旺 marks the reigning star and ★ 生 the rising star (生气) of the current Period 9. 五黄 marks the 5 Yellow star. A name under a palace marks a named star pair (同宫组合).
Flying Star is a traditional practice. Use it as a prompt for thoughtful choices about how you arrange and use your space, not as a guarantee of outcomes.
Each star's nature (星性)
Every palace of this chart holds a mountain star, read for people and the household (人丁), and a water star, read for wealth (财). These cards describe each star's own nature, and the last line gives its timeliness in the current Period 9. What a star does still depends on its palace, the stars beside it and what surrounds the house, so treat these as a starting point, not a verdict.

How to read a Period 8 chart
A property's natal chart (宅命盘) depends on two things: the 20-year period it was built in and the exact mountain its front faces. The facing palace (向) is on the side the front of the property looks out to; the sitting palace (坐) is directly behind it. Period 8 ran from 2004 to 2023.
This page shows the standard chart (下卦). A facing that leans noticeably toward the next mountain (兼向) can call for a substituted chart (替卦), which this page and the calculator do not draw.
The year's visiting stars change every 立春 (Start of Spring, around 4 February). The Flying Star calculator adds them to your chart, with each sector's rating for the year.
