April 2027 Flying Star Forecast: Thank-You Notes in the Central Room

April's chart takes over at 8:17 a.m. on April 5, 2027, and runs until 1:25 a.m. on May 6 (times in UTC+8). The year's stars, in place since February 4, stay where they are; the monthly layer is what changes.

The month's 5 Yellow comes down in the West, a sector that already holds the year's 2 Black and a San Sha limit. That makes the West the room to leave alone until May. The North carries the year's 5 Yellow, so it stays a room to leave be, whatever the month brings.

The rooms that lead are the Southwest, where the month's 9 arrives beside the year's 6, and the Northwest, home to the year's 1 and the month's 4. Each of those stars brings its own use, and the cards below give one apiece.

Each home also carries stars of its own; the Flying Star calculator charts yours and lays the current year's stars over them.

  • Favorable
  • Mixed
  • Caution

Favorable: put it to use · Mixed: use it, mind the cautions · Caution: keep it still, clean, and lit

Large number: monthly star; medium: annual; small: period. Select a sector for its details.

This year each sector's Annual star is the same number as its Period star.

Annual disturbance directions for 2027

  • Tai Sui (Grand Duke) — 未 / SW1: 202.5°–217.5°
  • Sui Po (Year Breaker) — 丑 / NE1: 22.5°–37.5°
  • San Sha (Three Killings) — 申 (Southwest) / SW3: 232.5°–247.5°; 酉 (West) / W2: 262.5°–277.5°; 戌 (Northwest) / NW1: 292.5°–307.5°

These mark cautions for optional drilling, digging, and demolition. Necessary safety work takes priority.

Where is each sector in my home or workplace?

Five sectors closed to building work. Leave optional work on the structure (new openings in walls, lifted floors, digging) out of the Southwest (Tai Sui and San Sha), the Northeast (Sui Po), the West (San Sha and the month's 5 Yellow), the Northwest (San Sha), and the North (the year's 5 Yellow). Tai Sui [太岁] (the Grand Duke), Sui Po [岁破] (the Year Breaker), and San Sha [三煞] (the Three Killings) limit building work; they don't decide a verdict. Every limit here is year-long and holds until February 4, 2028, except the month's 5 Yellow, which leaves the West on May 6. Anything broken that needs fixing now gets fixed, wherever it is.

Southeast Caution

Period 8 (retiring) · Annual 8 · Monthly 2

  • This month: Give the Southeast a light month with nothing scheduled in it, and if someone sleeps there, keep the room restful.
  • Watch for: Health · Family & people

April puts the 2 Black [二黑] in the Southeast, a malefic star tied to illness and to friction among the people you live with. The year's 8 White [八白], a fortunate star of money and family, hasn't gone anywhere. The Southeast's Wood holds the year's 8 back, though, and a weaker 8 can't carry the room past the 2.

A bedroom here goes on being a bedroom. Let it be for sleep and nothing else: laundry put away, the work bag left at the door, no evening calls from the bed.

South Caution

Period 4 (untimely) · Annual 4 · Monthly 7

  • This month: Keep the South in good repair and let it sit unused until May.
  • Watch for: Injury & accidents · Theft & loss · Conflict & lawsuits

The 7 Red [七赤] is April's news in the South: a star of sharp words, cuts, and theft. The year's 4 Green [四绿] is helpful for study, but this month it doesn't make the South a place to read or write, so take the books to another room. What the South needs is upkeep. Rehang the loose shelf, see to the hinge that sticks, and keep the floor clear, then let the room sit.

Southwest Favorable

Period 6 (untimely) · Annual 6 · Monthly 9

  • This month: Bring the month's occasions into the Southwest, and hold any meeting you lead there.

April is the middle of a three-month Favorable run here, from March through May. The month's 9 Purple [九紫] stands for celebrations and recognition. No star moves quicker, and its effects land in a single burst rather than a slow climb. Give it an occasion: the party after a child's piano recital, with the cake cut in this room.

Authority and standing belong to the year's 6 White [六白]. It suits the evening you chair a club's annual meeting for the first time and want the agenda and last year's minutes in order before anyone arrives.

Tai Sui and part of the year's San Sha sit in the Southwest. They restrict building, not use: structural work waits until February 4, 2028, and anything urgent is fixed as it comes.

East Caution

Period 7 (untimely) · Annual 7 · Monthly 1

  • This month: Use the East for errands that take a minute, and keep long tasks in another room.
  • Watch for: Injury & accidents · Theft & loss · Conflict & lawsuits

The year's 7 Red keeps the East a difficult room. This month the 1 White [一白], the star of career, comes in and offsets part of the trouble, but not enough to make the East a place to work. Fetch a coat, drop the mail on the side table, and move on. Any job that needs a blade or a power tool belongs in another room.

Center Mixed

Period 9 (reigning) · Annual 9 · Monthly 3

  • This month: Use the central room to thank people, and take any argument somewhere else.
  • Watch for: Conflict & lawsuits · Theft & loss

The year's 9 Purple gives the central room its good side, the recognition people are owed. Spread out the thank-you cards here for the parents who drove the team to every away game this season, and sign them at the big table.

Quarrels and losses are the province of the 3 Jade [三碧], here for the month. Don't let the central room become the place where the family hashes out a dispute this month. When the cards are done, gather up the pens, the stamps, and the class list, so nothing gets mislaid in the room everyone crosses.

West Caution

Period 2 (growing) · Annual 2 · Monthly 5

  • This month: Leave the West unused until May if you can, and when you must go in, keep it brief and quiet.
  • Watch for: Health · Family & people

The 5 Yellow [五黄] comes into the West for April, and it points to health and the people close to you. The year's 2 Black is here already, a star of illness and strain at home. Take that as a reminder to look after yourself in the usual ways, sleeping enough and seeing a doctor about what worries you; it is not a diagnosis.

The West is under San Sha for the year, and this month the 5 Yellow adds its own bar on building work. A leak gets fixed; anything that opens a wall or floor waits.

The chart holds the West at Caution from April through July. This is the start of a long spell, not a one-month dip.

Northeast Mixed

Period 3 (untimely) · Annual 3 · Monthly 6

  • This month: Bring work that confirms your responsibilities into the Northeast, and give the room no other work this month.
  • Watch for: Conflict & lawsuits · Theft & loss

The month's 6 White is a strong one here, because the Northeast's Earth feeds it. Its subject is authority, the papers and talks that set out who answers for what. The year's 3 Jade, a troublesome star of friction and loss, stays in the sector. Give the 3 little to feed on: bring the paperwork in, finish it, and leave the room empty the rest of the time.

Sui Po sits here until February 2028, so renovation that digs down or opens the structure stays out, while an urgent fix is fine. Within those limits, the Northeast is the place for writing up the handover notes on a project you've been asked to take over, the page that says which decisions are now yours.

North Caution

Period 5 (untimely) · Annual 5 · Monthly 8

  • This month: Leave the North be this month and let it hold what you keep in storage.
  • Watch for: Health · Family & people

Every month since January has rated the North Caution, and the run lasts through November or beyond, all on account of the year's 5 Yellow. April's 8 White, a lucky star of money and family, eases some of that harm. It does not change what to do with the room.

The year's 5 rules out renovation here until February 2028; repairs are the exception. Let it hold the suitcases, the tent, and the folding chairs that come out for holidays.

Northwest Favorable

Period 1 (rising) · Annual 1 · Monthly 4

  • This month: Plan the next step of your career in the Northwest, and use the room's desk to prepare for a test.

The year's 1 White stands for career, and the Northwest's Metal feeds it, which gives the room real weight for the work you are building on. Draft the proposal for a client you've been courting here, or map out the next stage of a small practice.

San Sha lies across the Northwest this year, so no new doorways or dug foundations here; urgent repairs go ahead.

The month's 4 Green brings study. This month the 4 stands opposite its home [衝], and the Metal holds it back, so the 4 gives less than it would elsewhere. It's enough for working through the practice questions for a driving theory test at this desk.

How to use this forecast

Use the good rooms, leave the cautious ones still. The classical texts treat activity as an amplifier: a good sector gives nothing until it is used, and a caution sector does no harm until it is disturbed. Where two caution stars share a sector, keeping it quiet lowers the risk without removing it. By the same logic, a busy room, at home or at work, with people, pets, and conversation, counts as use.

When a room can't move. A desk or a bed is not always easy to move. If yours sits in a Caution sector, keep it tidy and quiet, spend less time there where you can, and take the work that matters to a Favorable room.

Your own building's stars. This chart is the same for every home and workplace. Yours has its own stars, set by when it was built and which way it faces, and they decide where water, a stove, or a bed belongs.

The era. We are in Period 9 (2024–2043). Its reigning star is the 9 and its rising star the 1, which is why each sector's Period star carries a label such as reigning, rising, or retiring. The year's and month's stars on this page are read by their own natures, not by the period.

How to find each sector in your home or workplace
  1. Mark the middle of your whole floor plan. That area is the Center.
  2. Stand there with a compass, or a phone compass held away from metal and appliances, and find North.
  3. Each of the eight directions covers a 45° slice running out from the Center, 22.5° either side of its compass point.
  4. Note which rooms fall in each slice: bedrooms, desks, offices, the main door, the kitchen, a counter or till. Those are the rooms each sector section on this page is talking about.

The diagram uses the chart's orientation, South at the top. Tai Sui, Sui Po, and San Sha are narrower: Tai Sui and Sui Po each cover one 15° mountain, San Sha three, all listed under the chart at the top.

Treat the sector guidance as traditional planning symbolism. It does not replace medical, safety, legal, or financial advice, and urgent repairs or care should never be delayed for a symbolic timing preference.
