The Southeast starts a Favorable stretch this month, and the chart holds it there through July. The month's 1 White [一白] is the star of career, the ongoing work of getting somewhere. Here that might be the first weeks of a new job, when you are still learning the systems and everyone's names.

The year's 8 White [八白] belongs to money and to the household. Going through a loan repayment schedule line by line, with whoever shares the payments, is the kind of job this room is for.

Nothing afflicts the Southeast this year and neither layer puts a 5 Yellow here, so it is the traditional spot for a refresh you've had in mind.

South Favorable

April left the South at Caution and June returns it there, so May is the one month in this stretch to make use of it. Standing and authority are the business of the month's 6 White [六白]. Writing the review of someone who reports to you, the one that decides how their year is judged, belongs at a desk in this room.

The year's 4 Green [四绿] is a helpful star of study. An evening literature class, with its set novels stacked by the chair, has a home here for as long as the month lasts.

Southwest Favorable

• This month: Sort out household arrangements in the Southwest, and keep structural work out of it.

The month's 8 White brings money and family to this room. Working out with your partner who covers which school pickups over the summer is an 8 job, and the Southwest is a good place to do it. The 8 sits opposite its home sector [衝] this month, which makes its help here more modest than usual.

A first meeting with a new manager, at which they lay out what they expect from you, suits the year's 6 White.

Tai Sui and San Sha both fall here for 2027, and a good month does not lift them: elective work on walls, floors, or foundations is kept out of the Southwest until the annual chart changes, while anything that needs mending gets mended.

East Mixed

• This month: Hold a short, small occasion in the East if you have one, and keep the room orderly while you do.

This month brings the 9 Purple [九紫] to the East. The East's Wood feeds it, so it comes through strongly in this room. The 9 brings occasions and recognition: a lunch for a graduate in the family, with the diploma propped against the bookshelf, is the right scale for the East this month.

The year's 7 Red [七赤] is still in the sector, a troublesome star of cuts and falls, missing things, and sharp words. That is why the occasion stays brief and the floor stays clear of bags and cables. Once the plates are cleared, let the East go back to being an ordinary room.

Center Caution

Period 9 (reigning) · Annual 9 · Monthly 2

• This month: Give the central room its ordinary upkeep and no new jobs: keep it clean, in order, and in repair.

The month's 2 Black [二黑] signals illness and strain among the people at home. It shares the Center's Earth, which lets it work at strength here. The year's 9 Purple remains a fortunate star, but it feeds that same Earth and loses ground in the process, so the occasions it would otherwise favor are better held in another room.

Treat the 2's tie to illness as a reason to keep up with everyday care, like the checkup you've postponed or the cold you've been ignoring, and not as a verdict on anyone's health.

A central room that is wiped down, put straight, and asked to do no more than usual is the right way to carry it through May.

West Caution

Period 2 (growing) · Annual 2 · Monthly 4

• This month: Keep your time in the West brief, and if someone sleeps there, keep the bedroom restful.

The year's 2 Black is a difficult star, read for illness and for friction in the family. The month's 4 Green is supportive and stands for study, but with the West at Caution it is no reason to set up a desk here. A book picked up on the way through is fine; a course of study belongs in another room.

San Sha falls in the West this year. Building work you don't strictly need, the sort that opens a wall or lifts a floor, is kept out of it; anything that breaks is mended.

A bedroom here can stay a bedroom. Keep it quiet in the evenings and free of the work and screens that would turn it into a second office.

Northeast Caution

• This month: Hand the Northeast over to stored things.

The 5 Yellow [五黄] comes to the Northeast this month. It is a malefic star, linked with illness and with trouble at home.

Then there is the year's 3 Jade [三碧], a star of quarrels, disputes, and loss.

Sui Po sits in the Northeast for the year, and the 5 adds its weight this month: no optional digging, demolition, or floor work here, and anything already broken gets fixed first.

Camping gear, spare folding chairs, and the paint tins from last year's touch-ups are the right tenants for this room.

North Caution

• This month: Leave the North out of daily use and give it nothing to do.

The North has not had a month better than Caution this year. Since Li Chun [立春] on February 4, the year's 5 Yellow has held it there, and the grid runs the same way through December 2027 and perhaps past it. The 5 is a harmful star, read for illness and for strain in the family.

The month's 7 Red brings its own trouble: accidents, sharp words, and theft.

With the year's 5 in the sector, structural work you could do without has no place here for the rest of the annual chart, and a repair the North needs is carried out first.

The best use of the North in May is no use at all.

Northwest Mixed

The year's 1 White is a lucky star of career. Answering a recruiter's message, and looking over which weeks you'd be free to talk, is the sort of task to bring here.

San Sha is in the Northwest for the year. Renovation that disturbs the structure and could be skipped stays out, and mending what has worn out takes priority.

Quarrels and loss come with the month's 3 Jade. The Northwest's Metal holds it back, which lightens it. Keep tense calls elsewhere, and don't leave a wallet or an unopened delivery lying here.
