July 2027 Flying Star Forecast: Freelance Pitches in the Northwest
July's window opens at 3:37 p.m. on July 7, 2027, and closes at 1:26 a.m. on August 8 (Beijing time, UTC+8). For those four and a half weeks the monthly chart matches the year's: each sector holds the same number in both layers. No monthly star pulls a room in a new direction, so July is a clean look at the 2027 chart as it stands.
The 5 Yellow stays in the North, where it has sat since Li Chun in February, and the North remains the hardest room of the year. The 2 in the West, the 3 in the Northeast, and the 7 in the East make three more rooms to leave alone.
The rooms that lead are the central room with the 9, the Northwest with the 1, the Southwest with the 6, and the Southeast with the 8. The South's 4 makes it a fair place for study. Five sectors carry limits on building work that run to next February, listed below the chart.
The forecast here fits any home. The Flying Star calculator charts your own from the way it faces and the year it was built or you moved in.

Favorable: put it to use · Mixed: use it, mind the cautions · Caution: keep it still, clean, and lit
Large number: monthly star; medium: annual; small: period. Select a sector for its details.
This year each sector's Annual star is the same number as its Period star.
Annual disturbance directions for 2027
- Tai Sui (Grand Duke) — 未 / SW1: 202.5°–217.5°
- Sui Po (Year Breaker) — 丑 / NE1: 22.5°–37.5°
- San Sha (Three Killings) — 申 (Southwest) / SW3: 232.5°–247.5°; 酉 (West) / W2: 262.5°–277.5°; 戌 (Northwest) / NW1: 292.5°–307.5°
These mark cautions for optional drilling, digging, and demolition. Necessary safety work takes priority.
Building limits for July. Five sectors keep out any optional project that breaks into walls, floors, or ground: the Southwest [Tai Sui, San Sha], the West [San Sha], the Northwest [San Sha], the Northeast [Sui Po], and the North [the year's and the month's 5 Yellow]. Tai Sui (the Grand Duke), Sui Po (the Year Breaker), and San Sha (the Three Killings) limit works only; they don't change how any star reads. The limits from those three and from the year's 5 Yellow are year-long, holding until Li Chun [立春] at 3:31 p.m. on February 4, 2028. The month's 5 Yellow leaves the North on August 8. In any of these rooms, a repair that's needed is done before anything else.
Southeast Favorable
Period 8 (retiring) · Annual 8 · Monthly 8
- This month: Bring the month's money planning and household arrangements to the Southeast before its good stretch closes in August.
July is the Southeast's third Favorable month in a row and the last for a while: August's chart rates it Caution. The 8 White [八白] looks after what you earn and the relatives in your life. With no affliction and no 5 Yellow here in 2027, this is where a refresh you've planned traditionally goes.
Sit here to draw up a repayment schedule for the money your brother lent you last spring, and settle it with him before the month runs out.
South Favorable
Period 4 (untimely) · Annual 4 · Monthly 4
- This month: Make the South the room for the month's reading and learning.
The South is the one sector this month given over to the mind. Teaching yourself to read sheet music over the summer, a few bars an evening, is the kind of patient work the 4 Green [四绿] favors. It's a helpful star, and anything you're trying to learn suits this room.
Southwest Favorable
Period 6 (untimely) · Annual 6 · Monthly 6
- This month: Take the Southwest for any question of who has the say.
Questions of who decides, and who answers to whom, belong to the 6 White [六白]. The Southwest's Earth feeds the 6, so the star reads at its clearest here. Because Tai Sui and San Sha share the sector, optional projects that tear into its walls or floors are off the table until Li Chun next February, though a repair the room needs goes first.
If you're about to let out a flat, draft the house rules for the new tenant in this room.
East Caution
Period 7 (untimely) · Annual 7 · Monthly 7
- This month: Walk through the East when you need to, and give it no task of its own.
- Watch for: Injury & accidents · Theft & loss · Conflict & lawsuits
Brief trips through the East are fine this month; anything longer isn't. The 7 Red [七赤] sharpens tongues, invites knocks and scrapes, and lets small belongings go astray. The star's Metal cuts at the East's Wood, and a star spending its force that way does less harm than one at ease, which is why passing use is acceptable. Take tense phone calls to another room, and leave nothing here you'd hate to lose.
Center Favorable
Period 9 (reigning) · Annual 9 · Monthly 9
- This month: Host the month's occasions in the central room.
A colleague who has just earned a professional license after years of exams deserves a dinner, and the central room is the place to hold it. Occasions and recognition are the province of the 9 Purple [九紫]. Of all nine, this star moves fastest, and its effects are packed into a short span of time.
West Caution
Period 2 (growing) · Annual 2 · Monthly 2
- This month: Hand the West over to storage and keep daily activity in other rooms.
- Watch for: Health · Family & people
August brings the West its first rating above Caution since March, so July is the last month of a four-month stretch to sit out. The 2 Black [二黑] carries illness and strain between relatives. Let the room hold what you keep rather than what you use: the camping gear, spare chairs, and folders for jobs already finished.
Mend whatever is broken first. After that, San Sha rules out optional work that opens the West's walls or floor for the rest of the Chinese year.
Northeast Caution
Period 3 (untimely) · Annual 3 · Monthly 3
- This month: Keep the Northeast orderly and low on traffic, and if it's a bedroom, keep it calm.
- Watch for: Conflict & lawsuits · Theft & loss
In the Northeast, order is the month's whole job. The 3 Jade [三碧] is a quarrelsome star that lets things slip away, so put things back where they belong and keep the floor clear. Sui Po bars building work that digs into the structure here until next February; urgent repairs are the exception.
If someone sleeps here, let the room be for sleep: leave the bills and the work email outside the door.
North Caution
Period 5 (untimely) · Annual 5 · Monthly 5
- This month: Leave the North out of use for July.
- Watch for: Health · Family & people
No sector has a longer stretch to sit out. The North has rated Caution every month since January 2027, and the chart holds it there through January 2028. The 5 Yellow [五黄] is the year's star here, and July's chart sets a second 5 in the same sector. The 5 does harm wherever it lands. Its Earth presses on the North's Water, a fact of the chart that neither eases nor sharpens it.
Demolition, digging, and new flooring have no place in the North while a 5 Yellow sits in either layer, and the year's 5 holds that line until February 2028; repairs the room needs go ahead first.
Don't set up a desk, a hobby, or a regular meeting in this room. Tradition ties the 5 to illness; read that as a nudge toward everyday care, like resting when you're run down, and not as a diagnosis.
Northwest Favorable
Period 1 (rising) · Annual 1 · Monthly 1
- This month: Do the month's career planning in the Northwest.
The 1 White [一白] is the star of a working life in progress, from the search for work to the next step up. The Northwest's Metal feeds the 1, which makes this the room where its pull is strongest. San Sha sits across the sector, so leave its walls and floors as they are, apart from any repair that can't be put off.

How to use this forecast
Use the good rooms, leave the cautious ones still. The classical texts treat activity as an amplifier: a good sector gives nothing until it is used, and a caution sector does no harm until it is disturbed. Where two caution stars share a sector, keeping it quiet lowers the risk without removing it. By the same logic, a busy room, at home or at work, with people, pets, and conversation, counts as use.
When a room can't move. A desk or a bed is not always easy to move. If yours sits in a Caution sector, keep it tidy and quiet, spend less time there where you can, and take the work that matters to a Favorable room.
Your own building's stars. This chart is the same for every home and workplace. Yours has its own stars, set by when it was built and which way it faces, and they decide where water, a stove, or a bed belongs.
The era. We are in Period 9 (2024–2043). Its reigning star is the 9 and its rising star the 1, which is why each sector's Period star carries a label such as reigning, rising, or retiring. The year's and month's stars on this page are read by their own natures, not by the period.
How to find each sector in your home or workplace
- Mark the middle of your whole floor plan. That area is the Center.
- Stand there with a compass, or a phone compass held away from metal and appliances, and find North.
- Each of the eight directions covers a 45° slice running out from the Center, 22.5° either side of its compass point.
- Note which rooms fall in each slice: bedrooms, desks, offices, the main door, the kitchen, a counter or till. Those are the rooms each sector section on this page is talking about.
The diagram uses the chart's orientation, South at the top. Tai Sui, Sui Po, and San Sha are narrower: Tai Sui and Sui Po each cover one 15° mountain, San Sha three, all listed under the chart at the top.
Treat the sector guidance as traditional planning symbolism. It does not replace medical, safety, legal, or financial advice, and urgent repairs or care should never be delayed for a symbolic timing preference.
